The La Di Da Society is a registered charity that runs daytime cabaret and dance events for people of 60 years old at Ralli Hall in Hove. At each event, with up to 240 guests, we create a friendly, sociable and lively atmosphere where people can easily make friends and let their hair down! For £10, guests receive an afternoon tea served on vintage crockery, a glass of bubbly and a raffle ticket, as well as getting entertained by some top quality cabaret performers and our resident DJ. We also incorporate short, 5 minute interactive dances at each event that get everyone moving whether it's done sitting down or standing up.

We get many people who come on their own, the events are designed in a way to encourage interaction with others and meet new people. We also get lots of groups coming, these can be friendship groups as well as other local community organisations who bring the people they work with along. Our venue is fully accessible.

These events started in Hove 5 years ago as Duckie project The Posh Club. When the Brighton club ended, Becca, who had been running it, set up The La Di Da Society to continue its legacy, using the concept of The Posh Club but with a slightly different twist. We owe everything to The Posh Club, particularly its founders Annie Bowden & Simon Casson, and we can't thank them enough for giving us their support with this project! The Posh Club continues to run in other areas of the South East.

Meet The Team!

CEO, Producer & Host

Becca has been working in the charity sector for nearly 20 years and running events for over 7 years. She lives locally and has one son, two kittens and two guinea pigs. In her spare time she trains & competes in strength sports including powerlifting and strongwoman!

Kitchen Boss Babe

Daisy has been running the kitchen since day one, where she has earned herself the reputation of making the best afternoon tea in town. We don't think her sandwiches can be beaten! Daisy lives locally with her daughter and cat, she can often be spotted dancing in a field to Fatboy Slim.

Head Sandwich Technician

Sian began her journey with us as a volunteer, however when we spotted her precision sandwich making skills we had to offer her a job! Sian is also an expert gardener.

Tech Maestro and DJ

Charlie deals with all of the tech for our events and also plays some rocking tunes! He loves to dance and can often be spotted on the ballroom floor showing off his moves.

Trustee (Chair)

Thomas has been volunteering for us since day one. He is our 'Cakestand Queen' and has taken on the important role of looking after our precious cake stands! He also has some swinging hips, and is often on stage doing our interactive dance demos.

Claire has been volunteering with us for a long time, she is an absolute legend within the team! In her spare time she is an established painter who sells her work. She also abseils down buildings and does an amazing Marilyn Monroe impersonation!

Louise is another veteran volunteer who has been with us since the beginning. She is a dab hand in the kitchen and keeps the tea and coffee flowing at all times. She has double jointed thumbs and in her spare time she grows giant cacti in Hove!

Nicole is our resident 'Dancing Queen', she can jive like a pro and designs and delivers all of our interactive dance sessions. She can often be found dancing on the bandstand in Hove, with other people of course!

Assistant Sandwich Technician

Vanessa was a long term volunteer of ours and recently joined the kitchen team as our 1/2 day assistant. You will always find her on the dance floor once the sandwiches have been made!
